MDL Forwarding has purchased from LUKOIL-SZNP a land plot with industrial facilities, located at: Arkhangelsk, Isakogorka, 3-ya Liniya 46.
The total land area is 10,5 ha. The territory has an open storage, covered warehouses with a trackside unloading shed, a heated warehouse, an office building, a container depot. The non-public railway track is serviced by a shunting locomotive of the Northern Railway, the Isakogorka shunting master. The infrastructure includes a private boiler house, a diesel locomotive depot, a transformer sub-station, a garage for mechanical means, a weighbridge and a railway scale.
Own handling equipment (reach stackers and forklift trucks of various capacity, machinery and support equipment) allows for the provision of a full range of services for terminal handling of goods in a wide range of categories.
The company has plans to develop and partially reconstruct the capacities of the terminal, and also to supply additional handling and auxiliary equipment, with the aim of creating a fully-fledged multifunctional Dry Port Arkhangelsk, the estimated cargo turnover of which already amounts to 40 000 mt per month, and after modernization it can reach 60 000 mt per month.
«It is difficult to overestimate the role of Arkhangelsk as one on the key ports on the Northern Sea Route in the context of the country's national interests. We see our project, the Dry Port Arkhangelsk, as a strategic point for import and export deliveries that will have a positive impact on cargo flows throughout the North-Western region of Russia», said Alexander Altshuller, General Director of MDL Forwarding Co Ltd.
