The vessels will depart from India and arrive in St. Petersburg five times a month. These will more than triple the volume of cargo traffic and allow clients to arrange shipments unadjusted for gaps in sailing schedule.
MDL Forwarding launched its direct sea service MIREX (Modul India Russia Express) in June 2022. Initially, two vessels of a carrying capacity over 35 tonnes each were deployed on a direct service connecting St. Petersburg and Indian ports of Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Chennai. Now, through a feeder network, the service covers all key ports of India, including Kolkatta, Vizag and others, as well as the ports of neighboring countries, such as Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Due to the increase in traffic, weekly calls have been added to the schedule since July.
«Our company was the first to launch a deep sea service from the port of St. Petersburg after foreign shipping lines left. In the course of this year we have more than tripled our fleet of containers and invested in new refrigerated equipment. Our service has become truly stable and regular. With the help of feeder lines, rail routes and, where necessary, trucks, we have covered the most remote regions in India», – said Alexander Altshuller, General Director of MDL Forwarding.
In a year since its launch, the service has helped to transport more than 20 thou. TEUs, refrigerated and oversized cargoes, tank containers. Thanks to the competent fleet control, the time of sea delivery does not exceed 25 days.
«We strive to provide our shippers and consignees with the service of the same high level as the largest international companies did, and namely reliable schedule, short transit time, modern vessels, for the lowest possible price. We have a thorough knowledge of the Russian market, and we have all the possibilities to arrange not only sea carriage, but also land transit, customs clearance – everything that Indian partners in Russia need to feel confident in trade relations», – said Vladimir Gui, Commercial Director of MDL Forwarding.
