MODUL freight forwarding company has organized the trial trip of a container block train from Russia to China.
In the beginning of July the train carrying a load of pulp and consisting of 45 x 40’ boxes was dispatched from the Volzhsk railway station to one of the largest cities in China - Chóngqìng, Tuanjiecunr railway station. Empty containers were spotted from Moscow to Volzhsk station and after loading the train was sent to China through the border crossings Naushki and Zamyn-Uud.
This shipment was organized exclusively by MODUL company, which allowed ensuring high speed of cargo delivery to the warehouse at the station of destination in China – the total transit time was 18 days. On July 27, the train arrived back in Moscow with imported Chinese-made goods.
On completion of the trial trip, the new train connection operated by Modul may become regular and be duplicated for carriage of any other goods. Negotiations are currently underway to organize а second container block train to China.
