A unique testing was undertaken at the Terminal Facility of the company. The pipes with diameter of 1.22 m, length of 12 m and total weight of 6.8 t were reloaded from truck into 40’container and unloaded in the reverse order by two workers within 45 minutes.
Prior to start the testing the following equipment was pre-fitted: 40’Container with portable steel track, sloping platform with a specialized pallet for cargo and ‘One-shot’ container stuffing system Joloda.
The pipes were strapped and unloaded from the truck using a reach-stacker with 35 t loading capacity, transported to the sloping platform and placed on the specialized pallet. The skates were elevated by means of a hydraulic pump. With help of ‘One-shot’ container stuffing system Joloda the load was rolled down the captive track into the Container. The skate & track was then removed and the load secured inside.
After that the operation was carried out in the reversed order. The load was unsecured, Joloda-system and lifting device locked, a trial lift-and-lowering was made and the pipe was entirely rolled out of the Container.
Modul Ltd is an official distributor of Joloda-system on the territory of the Russian Federation. The company not only sells the loading system but also carries out experiments in loading of out-of-gauge, heavy lift and dangerous cargo on own Terminal Facility of the company.
To evaluate serious and unique operations with heavy cargo the experienced technologists carry out precise testings on mass-size evaluation models to examine in detail the procedure of reloading. It allows the company to offer tailor-made solutions for easy and quick handling even of the most heavy and complex cargo.
